Parent Groups
NEW RELEASE at STANDARD TREATMENT CENTRE by Evangelos Bohatziar! Group psychotherapy for parents!
On hearing "group psychotherapy" some people may feel anxious, afraid, even threatened... A few words, then, to demystify the "phenomenon"...
The animation of the groups and the training of the participants through experiential exercises-games is something sensitive since both the animator of the group and the participants are involved in the first person emotionally and emotionally. In other words, it is about knowledge that is gradually discovered and experiences that are self-realized throughout the process, where the animator as a facilitator and the participant as a facilitator discover, create, co-move and have fun focusing on the here and now. They create, that is, together a field of freedom through which needs, desires, but also experiences of new experiences unknown until now will emerge.
Through the attraction that members feel towards the group and towards the other members of the group, the cohesiveness of the group is gradually and steadily built. Members accept each other, are supportive and tend to form meaningful relationships within the group. In conditions of acceptance and understanding, therapists:
- They discover and accept parts of themselves that they did not know or did not accept.
- They can and do seek to say what is bothering them, instead of shutting themselves off and keeping it inside.
- They discover themselves through the group's opinion of them.
- They learn to recognise and express their feelings. It is very impressive how difficult it is to recognize and express emotion!
- Through the group they learn what impression they make on others, and therefore on people outside the group.
- They learn to express negative and positive feelings towards other members.
- They learn to take full responsibility for the way they live their lives, regardless of guidance and support from others.
- They learn to act as an example to members, but also to be exemplified by them. Finding that others can discover things that embarrass them and take risks that benefit them serves as a positive example to all members.
- They learn to trust the team and this has an impact on their life outside the team.
- They learn to listen effectively. Most of us think we can hear...
- They experience security and emotional relief.
- They are gradually revealing themselves more.
All we ask of you?
WOW! CONFERENCE!
We protect the group rules and put pressure on people who deviate from them! The group works like a family and "domestic" issues never go outside the family!
We look forward to experiencing this unique experience with you. It will be a special journey, with many experiences that will follow us throughout our lives in order to improve it. Enjoy it...!
Yours sincerely,
the psychologist of the centre,
Anastasaki Maria.
"I came to believe that in school, as in psychotherapy, the only knowledge that can influence a person's behaviour is that which he discovers on his own and makes his own..."
