THREE "NUMBERS" FROM MRS. FROCEAU:
I had gone to pick up my little kids from their school
today at noon
-yesterday, actually, because it's Wednesday morning-
and as I returned, I saw her leaning into the arms of her relative.
He was dying.
She was excited.
I'm talking about Mrs. Froso.
It was preceded by a two-hour conference with her ten-year-old, SUPPOSEDLY, non-verbal son.
From this lady I keep three things as a talisman:
No. 1. She had her Cross before I started the intervention with her child.
No. 2. When I asked her if she hears the words her son says at our conferences she told me this: "I almost faint, I can hear my child talking!"
After the second one, I take paper, blue stick, red marker and...
Scissor.
I politely ask her to give me her shoe and after getting her permission, I stick the messages I wrote on my paper on the sole of her shoe.
Yes!
What you must do in the terms you described to me at the beginning of our acquaintance.
Here!
Walk until they are a thousand pieces, until they fade and disappear.
May they disappear from your vocabulary!"
That's what I told her and closed the conference.
He followed me to my office:
Sit down.
"I'd be happy if you walked around with that in your shoe..."
i said.
"I'M NOT TAKING IT OFF!"
She shouted in her hoarse voice.
"BETTER CUT OFF MY LEG!"
He concluded.
And that was the third one.
No 3. I was telling you.
"I'm going to light a candle to St. Andrew!"
Continue. And keep going. And go on...
Until I lost count.
But I am content to share with you the first three.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS NON-VERBAL AUTISM!
