EVERYTHING TEACHERS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT A STUDENT (and not only): My Dear Master: 1. 1. 2. I can feel the heat, the smell of my classmates, yours as well as all the objects in the room. Sometimes they suffocate me. 3. What would you say if to learn the "B" we made cookies together in its shape, I put it on my cheek unbaked and baked, smelled it ritually, ate it, or held it in my mouth until its shape dissolved. What if you made me run, walk, jump, dance in a "B" shape? 4. In learning there is no "one size". That's only in clothes. Also, the ceiling only for houses... 5. I hear, taste, smell, feel, sense things you never imagined. (The sound of your stomach as you talk for example) 6. I learn by playing, I learn by playing. 7. Sometimes you may have to teach me as if I were a baby. That doesn't mean I am though. 8. Other times, even though I am a child, I look like an adult, more serious than real adults. In all cases, though, I am a child. 9. It's terribly boring throughout elementary school, for example, to spend years learning the same grammar spelling rules. Or learning in the exact same identical way. I need INNOVATIONS. I need CHANGES in the educational process. 10. Many times a single idea can cause me to make constant, repetitive movements of my fingers, my hands, my whole body. 11. When I make you feel headache, nausea, head burning, heart pounding, want to scream don't hold a grudge. I may at that time feel something much more painful than all of the above. 12. If I don't experience something, I can't know it. 13. When I don't cooperate, find out what's wrong. I would love to make you happy. Sure. With love and appreciation for my work. ...for your work. Have a happy and creative school year!
