Method - INPP Programme

The Institute of Neuro-Physiological Psychology UK

What is INPP;

The INPP treatment programme has innovated in the field of neuro-developmental delay (NDD) research. The term neuro-developmental delay describes the omission or incomplete completion of a normal stage in the infant's development and is essential for the normal development of the child. The program has been developed to provide meaningful treatment without drugs and suppression, designed to help children combat specific learning or behavioral developmental difficulties. It has been implemented in many countries around the world since 1975 and has successfully treated thousands of children with developmental disorders .

What is the relationship of INPP with my child's development?

Every child is born with a set of primitive reflexes (sometimes referred to as survival reflexes) that must be retired as they are replaced by movements controlled by a 'higher' part of the brain as the child matures neurologically. This should normally occur during the child's first year of life. If they are not controlled at the appropriate age, they remain active in the body and interfere with the subsequent development of fine skills and thus the specialized academic skills needed to enable the child to cope with the common educational program (school).  There is a growing body of published evidence supporting the theory that control of the balance mechanism, motor skills and integration of early reflexes are directly linked to academic achievement.

What does it include?

The program INPP includes a series of specific and simple movements, based on the natural movements that the child develops in his early years. The exercises help to correct any gaps in his previous development. They aim to retrain the brain in the formative reflexes that support a child's development and progress.

How is neurological maturation achieved on the basis of INPP ;

In essence, these specialized exercises "return" the child to the early stages of training and development of the balance mechanism.

Only 10 minutes a day...

A special individualized program will be set by our Center which will be implemented for 5-10 minutes a day from the therapy center or from your home with the parallel training of the guardian.

Will I be able to apply it as a non-expert parent?

All treatment programmes are carried out with the parallel training of the guardian and frequent reviews of the child's progress. On the other hand, the exercises are simple and explained in an individualized manner. No child has so far experienced difficulties in Greece. Distance learning programmes are already being implemented in specific cases.

What is the purpose of the project?

  • The development of the alignment of the head with the body which is the basis for maturation
  • Ability to use the left and right side, upper and lower body in different ways, which is the basis for the full body coordination(pleurisy)
  • Improvement of immature reflexes, balance mechanism and eye movement which are key factors for learning.
  • Increased student achievement in low-achieving children in primary and secondary school

Who is it for?

  • Children with specific learning difficulties (dyslexia - dyscalculia, attention deficit disorder ADD, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, etc.)
  • Learning difficulties of low mental potential
  • Coordination problems (balance problems "difficulty riding a bicycle", clumsiness, problems with hand-eye coordination, disturbance of attention and perception of movement DAMP)
  • Behavioural problems(hyperactivity - overactivity  ADHD, imperfect impulse control, bedwetting)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Agoraphobia
  • Panic disorders

What makes this treatment so effective?

Most forms of therapy aim to improve the skills that the child has mastered, but without making up for previous deficits in neuro-physiological development. Therefore, as long as the barriers remain, the child makes efforts to with surface effects.
